Armor
s you level, more armors become available.
Armor will change form (fullplate, thin leather, cloak) depending on which class is currently being leveled (smash, sneak, cloak).
Higher level armor will necessarily look better and cooler.
Armor will have holes in it, ranging from two 'small' holes in nub armor to five, ten, even maybe ?twenty? 'large' holes in uba-level armor.
These holes can be filled with 'gems', basically slotted equipment that adds stat bonuses to armor, granting most (or all) of the actual defensive ability of the armor.
